Who We Are - Quiénes Somos
W.O.R.L.D. Academy is a bilingual, project-based K–8 public charter school preparing students for a global future. We believe bilingualism is an asset and that learning should be public, personal, and powerful. Through dual-language immersion and real-world projects, students build strong academic skills, confidence, and leadership, while developing a deep sense of identity and belonging. Founded by educator and school leader Brianna Skinner, W.O.R.L.D. Academy was created in response to a clear need in North Las Vegas for schools that honor students’ identities while delivering rigorous, meaningful learning. Our model integrates dual-language immersion, project-based learning, social-emotional development, and restorative practices to support the whole child. At W.O.R.L.D. Academy, families are partners, culture matters, and students learn by doing, developing the knowledge and skills to lead in their communities and beyond.
Our Mission - Nuestre Mision
We empower multilingual global citizens who are rooted in their cultures, inspired by diverse traditions, and open to the world’s perspectives. Through inclusive and rigorous learning, WORLD Academy cultivates Wisdom, Opportunity, Roots, Language, Discovery, and Global Citizenship, measured through biliteracy assessments (AAPPL/STAMP), PBL performance rubrics, SEL and cultural identity surveys, and global citizenship reflections and presentations.
Formamos ciudadanos globales multilingües, arraigados en sus culturas, inspirados por diversas tradiciones y abiertos a múltiples perspectivas del mundo. A través de un aprendizaje inclusivo y riguroso, WORLD Academy cultiva Sabiduría, Oportunidad, Raíces, Lenguaje, Descubrimiento y Ciudadanía Global, medidos mediante evaluaciones de biliteracidad (AAPPL/STAMP), rúbricas de ABP, encuestas de SEL e identidad cultural, y reflexiones y presentaciones de ciudadanía global.
